Delivery and calendar

Where you deliver, at what cost, on which days and windows, and when you are closed.

What it does in the conversation

From the customer's address the assistant finds the zone (by town or postal code), says the delivery cost and the free-delivery threshold, and proposes only the windows of that zone, with your preparation time. On a closed day it says so with your note («Christmas Day: we do not deliver») and jumps to the first open day.

The full calendar adds: the national holidays of your country with one click (Easter and Easter Monday computed every year); closures every year (--12-24) or relative to Easter (easter+1); «closed from 14:00» on a day; a closure of one zone or one town only; the time after which there is no same-day delivery; the latest end of a window; how many orders a window accepts (a full window is no longer proposed).

Example

Customer: Can you deliver tomorrow afternoon?

Assistant: Tomorrow we deliver to your area in these windows: • 15:00-17:00 • 17:00-19:00 Which one do you prefer? Delivery costs €4.50, free above €60.00.

If it is missing

  • Without zones, the assistant does not know whether you deliver to the address («zone not known») and cannot say the cost.
  • Without windows, it cannot propose a delivery time.
  • Without closures, it can promise a delivery on a holiday.
  • Without the free-delivery threshold, delivery is never free.
  • Without the same-day cut-off, it can propose a window this evening, if your preparation time allows it.
  • Without recurring holidays, you write every date by hand every year (and Easter Monday is easy to forget).

The fields

Required: without it the product is not sold the way the customer expects. Recommended: without it there is a declared fallback, but the experience is poorer. Optional: an improvement.

The first row is the header; the second row (starting with #) describes each column; the three example rows also start with # and are not imported. Column names are recognised in all six languages and by their field name.

Frequent errors and their message

  • COMUNE_IN_DUE_ZONE

    «The same town is in two active zones. Keep it in one only.»

    What to do: Each town belongs to one active zone.

  • CODICE_IN_DUE_ZONE

    «The same postal code is in two active zones. Keep it in one only.»

    What to do: Each postal code belongs to one active zone.

  • SOGLIA_SOTTO_IL_COSTO

    «The free delivery threshold cannot be lower than the delivery cost.»

    What to do: Raise the threshold or leave it empty.

  • ZONA_SCONOSCIUTA

    «A time slot belongs to a zone that no longer exists. Choose a zone from the list.»

    What to do: Move the window to an existing zone.
